!Teletext, version 2.01 (30-May-90)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
!Teletext is a desktop application for looking at teletext using Alastair
Shimmin's teletext server.
If you have a favourite page/channel that you want the teletext application
to start on, edit the !Run file to set TText$Options and TText$Page to your
requirements. TText$Options also allows you to specify whether or not the
application beeps when a new page has arrived and/or whether or not the
keypad window opens when the main window opens.
The teletext window supports a number of shortcuts. However, the window must
have the input focus before these keys will work. If the window does not
have the input focus, click SELECT in the window.
In addition to supporting the following keys, clicking SELECT over a page
number will pull up that page. Note that the window must have the input
focus first!
Teletext keys:
f5     select BBC1                 SHIFT+f5     toggle HOLD
f6     select BBC2                 SHIFT+f6     toggle REVEAL
f7     select ITV                  SHIFT+f7     refresh page
f8     select CH4                  SHIFT+f8     cancel page request
+      go on to the next page number
-      go back to the previous page number
numeric keys 0-9 enter a new page number
The current page can be saved in one of three forms:
1. Text. This includes all characters, regardless of how readable they are.
2. Sprite. This is the image as displayed in the window.
3. Teletext. This is the original data used to create the image.
The application will suggest a filename based on the current channel, page
number & sub-page number.
