                             =====================

The text in this file contains useful information about how to use TOSInfo.

What Is TOSInfo
===============
TOSInfo is a small application for use with STem, an Atari ST emulator. It's
purpose is to provide useful information about TOS images (TOS is the Atari ST
operating system), and to warn about any suspicious results.

Usage
=====
TOSInfo is a multitasking RISC OS program, and can be run from just about any
filing system (even directly from the archive, with a suitable de-archiver). On
start-up a window will open, into which TOS image files can be dragged. Various
pieces of information will be retrieved from the file, and will be displayed
inside boxes in the window. The information shown includes:

   the location of the file
   the size of the image file
   the version of the TOS image
   the creation date of the TOS image

If program determines that any of the information from the TOS image is invalid,
e.g. the version number is way too big, then the text in the appropriate box
will be coloured red (normally it will be black).

Valid sizes for TOS image files are 192Kbytes and 256Kbytes, depending on the
TOS version. If the size and version do not correspond with one another, the
size will be considered to be invalid.

Pressing the menu button of the mouse will generate a menu, from which the
customary Info window can be opened and the program can be quit. You can also
quit the program by clicking on the close icon of the TOSInfo window.

Just about everything in this program is able to provide interactive help. To
make use of this feature you will need to have a program such as !Help or
!BubbleHlp loaded as well.
