		a PollMask calculator.

   Preamble

One of the things that Ive grown sick of is recalculating my pollmask time
after time with different programs. Its a complete and utter arse. Ive
never seen a program which does this before so I guess that its a first!

   Use

Just click on the things that you want masked and when youre finished,
click on Calculate! (you cant really miss it, its quite big.) In the
bottom two icons will appear the value of the mask in hex and decimal.
Alternatively, you can decipher your old pollmasks by typing them into one
of the writable icons in either hex or decimal form. Just press Return to
decode it.

New to version 0.20 is the facility to type either forms of the pollmask at
the caret automatically. Clicking on the buttons marked Decimal and Hex
will type the respective forms of the pollmask at the cursor. Users of
Justin Fletchers TextCopy module wont require this feature.

In the configure window you can choose whether you want the application to
have an iconbar icon or not and if so, if you want the calculator window to
open automatically when you start the program.

   Futures

Tell me cos I cant think of anything at the moment.

   DLMlib

DLMlib is a set of shared resources by Keith Gaughan. It supports Panes,
MessageTrans, the desktop save protocol and interactive help. It is
currently only for use by by members of the DLM Design programming group but
may be made available to the public at some point in the future.

Both DLMlib and this application have only been tested on the authors RISC
OS 3.10 A3010 due to a drought of Acorn-owning friends and for this reason,
it is not guaranteed to work on every version of RISC OS, though Id be very
surprised if it didnt.

   History

001 First version.
(29-Jan-1998)

010 Partially rewritten and wired for DLMlib.
(17-Feb-1998)

015 Bunged in a few more poll reasons and it now lets you
(3-Apr-1998)	discover what your old codes mean. Also corrected a daft
mistake in the Use section (did anyone notice it?)
** PUBLISHED BY ACORN USER - August 1998 issue.

020 After reading the introduction given to the program in AUs
(18-Jul-1998)	*Info section, I decided that it was worth taking heed of
some of the very justified comments about the program.
Heres what I did with it:
The program can now (optionally) install an icon on the
iconbar. This was added because the intro included the
comment , but does not install an iconbar icon, so if
you shut the window youll need to re-run it. I dont
need this feature (or even particularly like it really)
but its there for anybody who likes filling the iconbar
		  with icons.
It can now type the mask of your choice for those who
dont use Justin Fletchers brilliant TextCopy patch
		  module.
If you do set the program to have an iconbar icon then the
main window is opened on startup only if you want it to do
		  so.
Hmm its 2:40 - bed calls.

(2-Mar-1999)	The two Daves at *Info should be interested in this, so Ill
send it in. No sense just letting it rot here, is there?
Until I get a copy of DLMlib or manage to reconstruct it
from sources and squashed BASIC files, theres not going to
be any further development on this program, Im afraid :-(
And it was such a beautiful library! Whaaaa!

020a Sadly, by the time I got a chance to send it in to *Info, it
(22-Aug-1999)	was dead. R.I.P. On the positive side though, I reconstructed
DLMlib which means I can make changes to this app. One tiny
change - it now checks whether it needs to null poll or not.
