            !Pluto v3.14 (15 Dec 2014)
            ==========================

Installation
============

Note that the !Pluto in this zip file is a complete copy of !Pluto.

It can be installed over an existing copy of !Pluto, or as a new
installation. See www.avisoft.f9.co.uk/pluto for further information.

New Users
=========

To install Pluto for the first time, drag the !Pluto application from this
zip file to any directory on your harddrive. When started for the first time,
it will ask to create default Choices files and empty Article files. It will
then start up with a Welcome message in the Misc box for you to read.

Existing Users
==============

To upgrade !Pluto to this version, first ensure that Pluto is NOT running.
Then drag the !Pluto application from this zip file over the !Pluto
application on your harddrive.

See !Help file -> History of changes for details of the changes to Pluto.
Please take some time to read about the changes since your previous version.

Note that you may want to review your Mail & News backups settings.

Help Files
==========

Pluto comes with comprehensive help information in the form of a StrongHelp
file, which provides a small, compact help system with little overhead. If
you do not have the !StrongHlp application to read these files then it can be
freely downloaded from http://www.stronged.iconbar.com/fjg/

Transport Applications (for New Users)
======================

Application(s) to 'Transport' Mail & News messages to and from the Internet
are required. PopStar, NewsHound, AntiSpam, and Hermes can all be used.

PopStar will fetch and send emails, and is freely available from
http://www.heenan.me.uk/acorn/download.html. This needs the separate download
of Socketwatch from that site because the PopStar download contains an old
version.

NewsHound is a news fetcher, freely available from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/riscosnet/files/releases/

AntiSpam will fetch emails with spam checking, and is freely available from
http://www.aconet.nl/antispam/

Hermes is a fully featured commercial transport application, available from
R-Comp http://www.rcomp.co.uk/, and is supplied as a component of their
package NetFetch.

Source Files
============

To comply with the terms of the GPLv3 licence, the Source to build this
version of Pluto is available from http://sourceForge.net/projects/plutoemail
Please contact me with any changes you make so they can be included.

Any suggestions for further improvements, or offers to help with changes,
please let me know.
