BMPs
The example picture in 1, 4, 8, and 24bpp versions.
All unprefixed versions created using Creator 3.32. As you can see, Creator
actually makes quite a pleasing output; this - especially - shows up in the
  4bpp version.
All versions prefixed 'B' were created by making the appropriate depth
sprite using ChangeFSI, then creating the BMP using ToBMP 1.01. A 24bpp
version has not been included as, giving RGB values per-pixel, any
differences encountered would be minimal. Also, it would necessitate an
intermediate conversion to Clear as ToBMP doesn't directly handle 16/24bpp
  sprites.

The "8bppOS2" format is a BMP in the OS2 format (v1.2). Not even ChangeFSI
will read this one - most software will complain the bpp or colour planes
value(s) is/are invalid. This is because the header is different. And, no,
FYEO2 doesn't load this type either.
If you would like support for OS/2 BMPs, please let me know. Also, please
specify if it is v1.2 (short header) or v2 (long header) that you are
  interested in.

GIFs
The example picture in 1 through 8 bpp versions, plus 8bpp interlaced.
The unprefixed versions were made using Creator, the 'B' prefixed versions
using InterGIF, and thanks to a friend the 'C' prefixed version using
  IM.

JPEGs
The example picture in 24bpp (colour) and 8bpp (monochromatic) versions.
The 24bpp_10 is a remarkably low quality version (at 10% quality), but
you'd be surprised at how much JPEG fits into 2699 bytes!

others.cpsl/rle
CPS logo from the XTree Gold for Windows package. This image is RUNLENGTH
compressed, so FYEO2 won't load it. I include it, however, as a test since
other software doesn't cope with RLE encoded BMP images...

ChangeFSI 1.15 Works okay. :-) Cheers, Sophie!

    Creator 3.32 Creates scrambled output.

FromBMP 1.01 Says the bpp field is illegal - no it isn't, it is 4bpp
(look at it with Zap, you'll see).

ImageFS 1.26 Can't load RLE compressed BMPs.

ImageMaster 1.08 I am informed that this, also, scrambles RLE BMPs.

Photodesk 2.04 Apparently doesn't have a BMP loader.

Thump 1.48 Installed from FRU11, with extra modules. Refuses to
touch BMPs - says a required module cannot be loaded,
though BMP options appear in the configuration...?

So, I don't feel so bad not supporting RLE compressed BMPs, as of the four
applications that claim to handle such images, only *one* actually works!

others.fails/bmp
A 4bpp BMP that fails to display properly. This is from the default
  backdrop 'tiles' within Windows95.

others.tip/bmp
A 24bpp BMP created on a non-RISC OS system. This is the (possibly
disturbing) results of the Trouble In Paradise program's analysis of a
zip cartridge that appears to cause the 'click of death' when reading one
sector. And since the Argonet driver is so amazing, you *CAN'T* map it out
as a defect. Useful...not! Anyway, grabbed off the screen, probably using
the Print key method and then some of the excess cropped, most likely in
Paintbrush, but might have been PhotoMagic 4. Either way, non-RISC OS.

others.works/bmp
A 4bpp 'tile' from Windows95 that displays properly.

PPM
The example, as a 24bpp PPM image...

Targa?
I would have supplied a Targa version of the example, but I'm not aware of
anything here that actually saves as Targa!

Example?
To save space (what with all those BMPs), I am not including a sprite of
the example picture. It's a nice picture of Alyson Hannigan (there's a
surprise!) that I use as my tiled backdrop; and if you want to see what it
looks like, then there are about a dozen different forms of it right here,
most of which FYEO2 will display. :-)
