The future :
------------

I (Jrme Mathevet) was the current FYEO maintainer. If time allows, I would
like to add the following features to FYEO (In order of priority):
- Add sprites support (Old and New format).
- Add browsing capabilities (ala Easyview).
- Update the JFIF library to version 6a (Current is 4).
- Add arithmetic coding JFIF code.
- Add PNG support.

I will try to do my best to reduce memory consumption, or at least prevent
the Wimpslot to increase too much.

I, Rick Murray, took the sources for v2.05 and created v2.05#. I, also, would
like to see PNG support. I am using "jpegtran" to handle progressive JPEGs,
it's a hack but it works. :-) When time allows, I intend to add sprite
support - certainly it'd be nice to have FYEO2 display 'deep' sprites on
non-deep systems. It might also be possible to support CYMK (or is is CMYK? I
can never remember...) sprites also.

PS: Since this is somebody else's program, there are NO Rickisms in the
software; so don't bother looking for "easter eggs". There aren't any.

PPS: You'll have access to my source modifications. Please be aware that I
use lots of C++ style comments (the "//" type) and also I am quite a fan
if the ISO 9899:1990 facilities for in-line variable definitions. In
other words, if you plan to use anything earlier than the 26/32 compiler
then, well, be prepared to have to fix a bunch of compiler error
messages - and don't forget the earlier APCS will be expecting you to
preserve flags in the assembler routines. Are you still sure you want to
compile it on an older compiler? :-)

PS: Every modification of mine is dated, like "RICK 2004/01/29". Actually,
as I write this it is 2004/01/30 at 5am (yes, 5 o'clock in the morning
French time). It is -6 outside so I'm getting up every 30 minutes to
run the taps so our pump doesn't freeze up - the fun of living in France
profond... Still, it's given me three uninterrupted hours to work on
FYEO2 and drink non-stop filter coffee. Say, what's LD50 for caffeine?
