Help for !EditMP3

Introduction:
=============
Suppose you have an MP3 track which has a long-winded spoken introduction
and ends with some prolonged applause. It may also be too quiet/too loud.
You may wish to edit out the introduction and/or the ending and also alter
the overall volume. This is exactly what !EditMP3 can do.

!EditMP3 provides some basic editing of MP3 files before conversion to WAV,
by using the facilities provided by the enclosed 'madplay' application.

Using !EditMP3:
===============
Clicking <Select> on the iconbar-icon brings up the editing window.
Now just drag an MP3 file either to this window or to the iconbar-icon.
(Non MP3 files will be ignored.)

If you just want to perform a direct MP3-to-WAV conversion without
making any editing then just click on 'OK' directly.

If you wish to edit your MP3 file then proceed as follows :-

Note that time intervals are denoted by mm for minutes, and ss seconds.
( If you use e.g !DigitalCD for playback you can take note, from its
display window, of the start and finish times to suit your requirements.)

The editing window has 3 sections:-

1. 'Start time' is the time interval to skip at the start, in mm and ss.

2. 'Finish time' is the time you wish to finish the track, in mm and ss.

3. 'Amplify' is the increase/decrease (+/-) in decibels (dB) of volume.
    Note that +6 db = double-volume, while -6 dB is half-volume.
    You can also use fractional inputs e.g 1.5, -2.37 etc.
    (Warning: high values can generate distortion - values between -3
     and +3 should be OK.)

Now click on the 'OK' icon.

This brings up a 'Save-as' box for the converted file.

Drag this to a suitable destination folder and the conversion will
begin automatically.

That's it!

Note: the 'Reset' icon just resets all items to their default values.

Example:
========
 Suppose we have an MP3 track lasting 4:36 ((i.e 4 mins 36 secs) and we
wish to skip the first 27 secs and finish at 4:21 (thus skipping the
last 15 secs), and also boost the volume a little (say by 2.16 dB).
 We would therefore enter -
    Start time =  0 mm : 27 ss
   Finish time =  4 mm : 21 ss
       Amplify =  2.16
( Note that the total duration of the track is now = 4:21 - 0:27 = 3:54 )
