<para>By default Director provides several keyboard short cuts which are listed below.</para>

    <term>Close open files</term>
      <listitem><para>Pressing <inlinemediaobject><imageobject><imagedata fileref="&images2;Up.gif"></imageobject><textobject><phrase>&uarr;</phrase></textobject></inlinemediaobject>^[ will open a menu listing all open files. Each item has a submenu from which you can open the directory it's in or close the file.</para></listitem>

    <term>Memoriser menu</term>
      <listitem><para>Pressing <inlinemediaobject><imageobject><imagedata fileref="&images2;Up.gif"></imageobject><textobject><phrase>&uarr;</phrase></textobject></inlinemediaobject>^Tab opens the Memoriser main menu.</para></listitem>

    <term>Mode menu</term>
      <listitem><para>Pressing <inlinemediaobject><imageobject><imagedata fileref="&images2;Up.gif"></imageobject><textobject><phrase>&uarr;</phrase></textobject></inlinemediaobject>^M will open the mode menu from which you can change the current mode/display resolution.</para></listitem>

    <term>Notes menu</term>
      <listitem><para>Pressing <inlinemediaobject><imageobject><imagedata fileref="&images2;Up.gif"></imageobject><textobject><phrase>&uarr;</phrase></textobject></inlinemediaobject>^N will open the Notes main menu.</para></listitem>

  <varlistentry>
    <term>Set the CSD (currently selected directory)</term>
      <listitem><para>Pressing ^Tab over a filer window or another window with a path name in it's title bar will set the CSD to the directory. If there it is a filename in the title bar then the CSD will be set to the parent directory.</para></listitem>

    <term>Time menu</term>
      <listitem><para>Pressing <inlinemediaobject><imageobject><imagedata fileref="&images2;Up.gif"></imageobject><textobject><phrase>&uarr;</phrase></textobject></inlinemediaobject>^T will open a menu displaying the current date and time. Please note that the menu is not updated in real time.</para></listitem>

    <term>Screen blank</term>
      <listitem><para>Pressing ^F11 will blank the screen.</para></listitem>

<para>Some of the key sequences may conflict with those provided by other applications. If that application as the input focus then they will act upon the key seqeuce whether you want it to or not. To this end:</para>

    <term>Lose input focus</term>
      <listitem><para>Pressing <inlinemediaobject><imageobject><imagedata fileref="&images2;Up.gif"></imageobject><textobject><phrase>&uarr;</phrase></textobject></inlinemediaobject>^Insert will lose the input focus from any window which has it.</para></listitem>

<para>Please note: Whilst this will stop applications from acting upon key sequence(s), it won't stop other desktop utilities from acting upon them.</para>
