Introduction
------------

This is a port of David Firth's emulator. This emulator provide support
for several Atari computers and the Atari 5200 console. These are machines
that were created in the hey day of Atari...
The machines generally had conversions of Atari's arcade games - no we are
not talking about latest technology here, just some good high quality gameplay.

How do I use it ?
-----------------

The first thing to do is to select the machine... most roms are included. I think
the only one missing is the OS/A rom. Anyway each machine supports different stuff
(unsurpisingly). Just ensure you have the right machine selected for the software
you wish to run.

The easiest way to get it to work is to get some Atari 800 disks like those out of
PC Xformer and filetype them to Atari800 (&da), then double click!!

A lot of variables can be altered in the options window :

Colour artifacting - this may improve the looks of some software

Basic - toggles whether basic is enabled or not

No Patch - Normally the OS is patched giving very fast I/O. This option
prevents the patch from being applied so that the OS works
using the serial port hardware directly. This option will
probably never be needed since programs that access the
serial hardware directly will work even if the OS has been
         	   patched.

	OS/A or OS/B - Use OS Rom A or B

The differences between 130XE/320XE (Compy Shop)/320XE (Rambo) :

Atari 130XE	Atari 130XE Emulation Mode (but Antic accesses the bank that
        	the CPU is using)

Compy Shop Atari 130XE with 320 kB memory Emulation Mode.

Rambo Use Rambo mode of 320 kB memory.

You can also (manually atm) alter the Config file within the application. This will
allow you to speed the emulation up by choosing a higher refresh ratio...

*FAQ*
-----

Why are my Roms/Disk images not working ?
-------------------

Try downloading them again. Check you are using the right software/machine
combination

Where's the sound ?
-------------------

This is being worked on...

Do I need a special screen mode ?
---------------------------------

Nope the emulator runs happily in a 320 by 256 mode as the screen fits nicely.
I

Will you get it to run in the desktop ?
---------------------------------------

This will be coming shortly, hopefully with sound!

Will you be porting any other emulators ?
-----------------------------------------

Haven't I done enough yet...
Honestly some people are never satisfied!!

Well I suppose I can stretch to a few more!!
