Notes on using the Address Book Application;
{Version 4.6 July 1989}

Address Book has been designed to operate under the
Multi-tasking Window Environment of RISC OS. It also
utilises the message passing of RISC OS for file
saving and loading {dragging icons} and mode changes
etc. Therefore it will operate in any mode so long
as you have the necessary monitor.

This application uses filetype &1AB as the filetype
for it's datafiles. However, you can also load the
old datafiles {ie created in AddresFile or from the
ArchiveX Magazine Bibliography}, and they will be
converted from 'data' format to 'text' files.

Main Menu choices:
After clicking the 'menu' button over Address Book
the following menu choices become available;

File - This displays information on the currently
        loaded file.
Print - This opens the printer options window to set
        various options for the printing of address
        files {in a similar way to the window used
        in the AddresFile program}. Printing will
        start only after the OK button has been
        clicked. Note that the print routine is a
        background task, so that any other multi-
        tasking programs are not held up when you
        print a long file.
Save - This offers you an icon so that you can
        drag it to a directory viewer to save.
Search- This opens a window for the entry of a
        string to search for. Any string will be
        treated as case insensitive and wildcarded
        {ie it will search for any occurrence of the
        string in any larger string}.
Sort - This option sorts the records alphabetically
        by the name field and also tidies any empty
        records to the end of the file {ie so they
        can be deleted by using the subtract record
        icon}.
